Meet Juli Brown

Life can get overwhelming and sometimes it’s difficult to regain your balance, heal from your past, or find your direction. Talking with a counselor can help you to discover and use your own strengths to reset, restore, and move forward.

My approach…

I view my relationship with my clients as a partnership; we start from where you want to start – and I support you at your own pace to get to where you want to be. I work to create a calm, nonjudgmental, and validating space where you can feel safe enough to share your thoughts and experiences. Together we can explore what is currently standing in your way and create a path for you to find your joy!

About me…

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and got my Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992. I am a Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) and have worked with survivors of abusive relationships all throughout my career. I have also worked with survivors of sexual assault, as well as clients dealing with self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use an empowerment and strengths-based approach and draw from principles of CBT, mindfulness, and an understanding of the immediate and long-term effects of trauma.

For self-care I enjoy bike riding, going out to eat, watching movies, and spending time with my husband, friends, my (adult) kids, and my cat. I have trained in martial arts for over 16 years and am a 4th degree black belt, and a certified self-defense instructor and enjoy teaching trauma-informed self-defense classes.
